My concern with Internet evangelism and reaching out, (a great tool is we can assist the backside) is discipleship. In my job I travel the nation working with pastors and denominations, and I don't see much evidence of discipleship in churches where we have relationships already. I wonder if Jesus didn't model it well when He spent time with a group of people to the point where they were beginning to act and talk like him. How do you do that online? Follow up, evangelism, servanthood, submission, etc are all such dynamic pieces of the following of God that I'd hate to see us building pathways for people to be Christians with being the body.

I have been trying to do online ministry for about a year now with Single Moms over at Cafe Mom. It is great to reach out to others moms with a Christian perspective, but challenging to keep it going and keep it lively and interesting as to draw people into it. I am really praying for some direction. I thik there is so much potential with online ministires and hope to find more support for those of us out here trying to do this very thing. Perhaps we should start a online minisitry support movement and/or site. When I google such topics, I get very few and select hits, which is another frustration. I think as the church moves more and more in this direction as another vehical for the gospel, we are going to need to network our support systems as much as we can. I would love to be an active support of something like this. Feel free to contact me. I love and totally support what you guys at lifechurch.tv are doing. Press on!! Robin. (single mom and future seminarian)

That's a great way to describe it Bobby. The impact of online ministry is only beginning. I'm excited to see how online ministry will not only reach the 'distant' and 'curious', but how it will empower and enable people to do ministry themselves. People are out there by the droves who are passionate about building relationships and a network online and I think these very people are the evangelists of our day. Online ministry could very well be the greatest tool at their disposal.
