Easter Stories

I hope that you all had an incredible Easter. God’s love for each of us is so amazing. I’m so grateful for having the freedom to worship Him and celebrate what He did for us.

Our Easter worship experiences continue throughout this week (7 more to go), but we have already seen tens of thousands of people worship and several hundred people make decisions to follow Christ!

I was watching all of the data of what was happening at our campuses come in via churchmetrics.com throughout the weekend, but what excites me even more is seeing and hearing the stories of people who are responding to God.

Here’s a quick email that came in from a man from Georgia who came to Church Online on Saturday

I WAS LOST AND HAD FORGOTTEN WHO OR WHAT GOD REALLY WAS AND STOOD FOR FOR MY LIFE TY FOR YOUR SHOW  TO BE HONEST I WAS LOOKING AT SOME GIRLS DANCING ON YOU TUBE AND WAS GOING TO ANOTHER SITE THAT I KNOW THAT WAS WRONG WHEN YOU GUYS SITE POPPED UP AND IT DRAWED ME AND I NEVER MADE IT TO THAT OTHER SITE I WAS DRAWN TO LIFE CHURCH I KNOW THAT WAS GOD TY

I’d love to hear stories of how God moved in your church/campus. Let’s celebrate them together.

A student I have stayed in touch with from when I was an elementary teacher showed up at the 11:30 experience with her two sons and a friend (yes, I know I’m old!). They came to find me in LifeKIDS. Both of them had a “What’s Next Kit”! So good to see God still watering seeds planted so long ago.

We had an incredible Easter weekend at Cross Timbers. 9000 in attendance and 100 hands! The hands were the biggest blessing but right next to that was the opportunity to give away our entire Easter offering. We had the largest Easter offering in our 10 year history and were able to give away $200K to 6 different organizations who are already helping the poor. 4 organizations were local, 1 in India and 1 in Uganda. We also were able to give a cash gift of $500 to guests who attended our Easter services and did not have a church home for support that are having financial challenges in this economy. We got to give away in total over $350K! What a blessing to be part of helping people come to know the love of Christ in a tangible way!

God moved through our midst as well! 4,000 in attendance and 77 first time decisions for Christ! All the details and hard work were well, well worth it!

Craig, you & your team are always such an inspiration. This year we tried the ’spontaneous baptism’ idea from your friend, Steven Furtick, since we had grown frustrated that people were getting saved in our services but not going on to baptism, etc. On Palm Sunday we baptized 84 and on Easter another 136, for a total of 220 baptisms in the 2 Sundays, and there was a story behind each one! It was an Easter we’ll never forget at CLC.

We had an amazing Easter at Compass Church in Athens, GA. We broke 1,000 for the first time across our 2 campuses, and had 88 people raise hands accepting Christ. We were humbled to see God move so powerfully.
