Praying for Australia
We have several close friends and people who are a part of our church who live in Australia. As many of you probably know, they have been experiencing several large bush fires across Australia that have already destroyed over a 1000 houses and taken many lives.
There is a video update about the situation on the Internet Campus blog that you can view. I also had several pictures emailed to me earlier today which you can see below. Let’s all remember to pray for Australia this week as they continue to battle the fires in some places and begin the recovery process in others.

the fires have been a traumatic experience for all and many people here in the state of Victoria know of someone who has perished in the fires. Folk in our church which is very close to the fires have lost friends, family, homes and their jobs. We stopped all of our regular Sunday agenda and instead held a ‘Bushfire response/memorial service’ yesterday which gave many people the opportunity to grieve and move forward to hope. We appreciate your prayer during this time as many people are so lost and seemingly without hope and we want to be as Jesus to them and need wisdom on how to best love each of these people who have been affected.

Thanks for your post and prayers. Our church has sent several Chaplains down to Victoria and they have already talked several people out of committing suicide. The fires have taken a huge toll on the people of Victoria - some only escaped the fire with the clothes on there back. There has been a huge outpouring of donations from around the world totalling more than $100 million already.

Thanks for praying for us! Please especially pray for the churches north of Melbourne and in some of the small towns that have been wiped out. We are partnering with them to provide medium term relief (They are over whelmed with short term relief).
