God has shown me over time that He knows what's ahead. While what He's asking me to do right now may not make sense for the current set of circumstances, He is preparing me for what is comming.

Like Aaron I find this happens less when I am not spending consistant time with God.

Ask my wife how I have used these in life and in ministry...

Some of the statements you made above are almosst cliche in our conversations ...

The interesting thing is... this intuition almost always proves correct...

I would add that there is a difference between intuition and gifted leadership though... sometimes complete faith in the absolute truth of scripture can from one perspective seem like intuition... and sometimes we can trade intuitive feelings for the absolute truth of scripture... that is what I have leared anyway...

I like what John Maxwell says about intuition, that people are intuitive in the areas of their strength. This helps me to know which of my gut feelings to pay attention to.

This is good stuff! I love developement stuff!

Aaron--I totally agree with you! I can tell I'm more intuitive with my leadership when I'm spending daily time with God. Thanks for the reminder!

I want to/need to be better at this. Not just being more intuitive but also listening when I do hear that small voice inside. Because my personality is very Sanguine I have tended to miss or overlook obvious "signs" that an intuitive person would have recognized. look forward to being taught more this week Craig.

To me, this seems to be a positional gifting. Meaning, when you are in the lead position, God gives you those intuitive moments because you are the one who is leading and needs to give direction. That is why it is often difficult to recommend the proper course of action for another church or ministry, unless it is something very obvious. It is their call and they need to seek God for direction. We can certainly help one another and be an encouragement, but it ultimately comes down to you and God. You can not feel another person's gut instinct, just your own. I know the longer I serve God, the more I trust the slightest nudge one way or another. It is that "still, small voice" that sometimes makes all the difference.

I've always sensed the Lord working with my leadership and giving me insight. I have a tendency to prepare myself and my lead staff for things that come out of left field. In fact, there are times when they will tell me "I don't see that," during a meeting. Then it comes to pass. It's amazing to allow God to allow you to see or envision future events so you can prepare for them.

I've noticed that real leaders have an intuitive sense of what's relevant and what is irrelevant, i.e. statistical doublespeak vs. metrics of actual health; superficial symptoms of relational problems vs. root causes.

I also believe this is the gift of discernment..much like the gift a parent has in leading a home...in some cases you hope you are wrong...in some cases it is a matter of now you see change needs to happen but how do you execute that change...

I am really looking forward to these next few days...I am in the middle of one of those times, and I am looking for the thoughts of Craig, Bobby, and everyone else.

We are going to begin the prep phases to start a second campus, and it doesn't make a lot of sense right now...but I can't escape the voice of the Spirit saying we need to do it.

Greatly looking forward to the posts & discussions about this! I have learned over time that this is one area that makes a lot of people really uncomfortable. Perhaps that is more my experiences than others..

Thanks, Craig for going there! And as always, you've been prayed as have all who read and/or comment!

I have been blessed with intuition....Intuition always amazes me!!! It can also be a human struggle at times. God wants you to go one way and "THEY" say you should go another...Have you ever questioned who "they" are? "They "say This is in.."they" say this is out..."they"say you have to do this to be right with God...Sometimes I ask WHO are "THEY" and why do "THEY" have so much pull in how we live "OUR" lives?

We need to pray...listen...and seek God for ultimate truth...sometimes I realize I don't always believe I am who God says that I am in His Word...I listen to "Them" instead of receiving that I am a CHILD of God...I wonder what the world would be like if we truly believed and received HOW MUCH God loves us? Just a thought!....hmmmmm......

I've learned to put more weight on my "gut check" moments.
...
I've also learned I don't have many of those moments when I'm not spending time with God!

Leadership intuition has been an area of strength throughout my years in leadership roles... It seems to go hand in hand with the spiritual gift of discernment.

Dr. Martin Luther King had an extreme gift of Ledership Intuition...

I just want to do God's will. And he's allowed me to go to the mountain. And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land! I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land.~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
