The Power of Questions (3 of 3)

Team Member to Team Member

The next set of questions are ones we are asking each other. Our team leaders will be reviewing these with his or her team members.

Team Member to Team Member:

  1. How is your relationship with God?
  2. When is the last time you failed?
  3. What faith risk are you currently taking?
  4. What hard decision have you been postponing?
  5. Who is speaking into your life and what are you learning?
  6. What is your biggest vulnerability?
  7. What are you dreaming about that you haven’t told anyone about yet?
  8. If God would bless anything you did, what would you attempt?
  9. Do you have any ongoing sin issues? What are you doing about it?
  10. Are you doing what God has called you to do? If not, what can we do to help you to find the right fit?

After the posts this week, I’m going to let my team know Craig planned our next 10 staff meetings! haha - thanks for the insight and the questions. Ed always talks about working on our church and not just in it, and these are fantastic tools to keep this critical discipline fresh.

Another great set of questions Craig and so important. It is so easy to get into a rut and think you are “the greatest thing since sliced bread” when others see you differently. This is a good set of questions to see exactly what others see (if they will be honest and you can take it). Thanks for this whole week’s worth of probing questions. They will serve well.

I’ve found that for accountability to really work, the onus is on the person being held accountable. IE, I need to seek it out. And it’s so easy to hide behind poorly crafted questions (speaking from past experience here). My advice is to give people the three questions you absolutely wouldn’t want them asking you. That cuts right to the heart of the matter. :)

    Pastor Craig,

I did not know how else to contact you, but I just wanted to say thank you. You don’t know me but I am a youth pastor at Celebration Church in Jacksonville FL, and have learned so much from you through swerve and all of the books that you have written. Thank you so much you will never know how much you have helped me grow as a father, husband, and pastor. THANK YOU

Great questions! Accountability is very difficult for anyone, especially leaders because we are held to that higher standard 2nd timothy chapter 2 pretty high standard to live up to!!

This is a really helpful series Craig. Just moved to join a new staff but I’m looking forward to implementing this idea with our team.

Great questions, Pastor Craig! I’ve sent them to my pastor to evaluate our team and make sure we’re staying on mission. Thanks for being a blessing.

Accountability within the team is great! But it only works if you’re honest with yourself and the people you surround yourself with…
