One Prayer Pastors: Steven Furtick

Today, we invited Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church in Indian Trail, NC to talk about One Prayer.

Don’t forget, the deadline to submit messages is this Monday, May 12. We have added some additional video resources (roll-in, etc.) to help you in your production.

The most exciting thing God has done at Elevation Church in recent days was on Easter Sunday. We saw over 500 people accept Jesus Christ in our worship experiences. Along with that, He is providing some pretty exciting opportunities for campus expansion in the fall. But that’s top secret. If I told you, I’d have to kill you.

Why are you excited about participating in One Prayer?
First of all, I believe Pastor Craig is a visionary for this generation of church leaders. I’m behind him in everything God puts in his heart to do. But secondly, I think the idea is just brilliant. We are alive at the most exciting time in human history to advance the gospel. With all the technology at our disposal, it would be an unpardonable sin to fail to leverage that in our generation for the unity of the body of Christ. Not only will Elevation be exposed to world class teachers and preachers, but we’ll be a part of a historic opportunity to stand in unity for Jesus. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

What is your one prayer for the church?
I’ll be teaching “Make Us Audacious.” I’m really going to encourage churches to grab hold of the vision that God has given the leadership of the church and to stand behind it with boldness and tenacity. I hope that the message
will encourage church leaders to pray big prayers and take big risks and to stretch their faith for the glory of God.

I told my head pastor that something was “sick”(sick in a good way) the other day and he responded by telling me that this guy from NC uses that phrase in his sermons. I’m usually ahead of him on figuring out who to podcast and what to read out there but he introduced me to Steven and Elevation Church. What a discovery, what an amazing ministry, how cool is one prayer going to be with such a diversity of speakers and ministries being involved. I can’t wait!

Pastor Steven Furtick is the REAL DEAL. In a world of fakes and phonies, he has led his church well AND allowed others to peak in with full view of Elevation Church. When he talks, I listen and learn. I have personally experienced Elevation and it “Elevated” my walk with God and man.
