I don’t know how technical we want to get, but South American countries and Pentecostal congregations tend to lend toward cultural trends of longer experiences/services. Faster paced, entertainment/consumer-minded cultures tend to turn off speakers and experiences sooner. Whether right or wrong we need to understand our culture and tailor our ministry presentations and experiences to those needs.
I’m actually very surprised that my church was in the minority with a shorter service. However, we have to work around a different structure than many churches. We have multiple services and also host all of our small groups on Sunday morning. So, time is tight and we only have 10 minutes transitions between worship hours. Yikes!
i am from SC and our church goes 90 minutes. i guess either my church was the only one who submitted for SC or i am very shocked.
this is the bible belt where people get pissed if the preacher bleeds over into their lunch schedule.
