YouTube Custom Player

YouTube continues to expand its platform and reach. I previously discussed how YouTube has partnered with Apple to deliver videos on the Apple TV and most recently the iPhone. A couple of days ago, YouTube started to offer the ability to customize its player. Now you can select from multiple color schemes, choose from two different layouts, and customize the title of the player. Additionally, you can choose your own playlist of videos to be displayed in the custom player.

This last feature is the most significant from my perspective because it provides a “free” platform for people (or churches of course) to deliver/share a series of videos. Your viewers can place one custom piece of code on their website/blog and you can update the playlist they are watching without having to change any of the code.

I put together a sample below (it is squeezed down a bit to fit this blog).

This is good, but Currently I really like the custom stickam player, though I’m having second thoughts about using their service. It lets you have a playlist of video, pictures, and audio! This way churches that record just audio can benefit too.

You can check out an example on the right @ http://teamjl.net

    Hey Bobby,

Sorry I am late on this discussion. Do you know of any sites that allow you to upload video longer than 10 minutes? Say, the length of a sermon?

    Thanks for your help,

    Brandon

    Brandon,

Check out stage6.divx.com (not flash), stickam.com (Limited space, 2GB for an entertainer account), brightcove.com (Not sure about space)

There’s lots more out there that let you upload video longer than ten minutes. I think godtube lets you do it as well - godtube.com - they are probably your best bet.

    God Bless ‘_^
