I have added the YouVersion to my blackberry however I can not sign in because it says that my account is not verified. I have been waiting on an email so that I can do this but it hasn't come yet. I have checked my "junk email" and not there either. I would like to start one of the plans but I have to sign in and until I get verified I can not do that. Will you please let me know what to do. Thanks.

Hi, i had just downloaded the online bible into my blackberry but it seems like i am not able to change the translation, each time i do that in the settings and save it, the moment i start reading the online bible, it will be ASV version. Why is that so?

I come from a software engineering background and have recently attempted the move to using primarily web 2.0 tools wherever possible. I have found this to be a very worthwhile and liberating venture, as I am now virtually
platform and machine independent.

As an adult studying the bible for the first time (still on Genesis), I have been desperately searching for a web-based tool that would provide the functionality that YouVersion looks like delivering.

Of particular interest to me would be the ability to tag at will and to link the text of the Bible to my own notes and reflections.

I would also very much look forward to the potential for social learning and sharing.

Looking forward to the Beta.

Pete,

I know we plan to make the site mobile friendly, OR have a mobile version.

Right now...what you are experiencing on the alpha login is different from what the login will be like at public beta.

Also...FYI, all of the public content on YouVersion will be accessible without a login when we launch. You will only need to log in to contribute or see your private/personalized content (starred items, etc)

Thank you for the feedback!

Quick question on the login process - how will it work for mobile devices/browsers? One of the huge positives I see with this is the ability to use a Windows Mobile device to access the site from anywhere. However, when I tried to click the login button for the alpha, I had a popup for a login (and I realize I don't have a login). I'd really like the convenience of using this on my phone, but have concerns about that - mostly because of PocketIE.

Thanks.

Darren,

We will continue to add testers to the private alpha release in the coming weeks. We anticipate a public beta release in mid Sept and a full launch later in the year.

Incredible idea guys... and I'm glad you have the resources/skills to make it happen. Good one.

When's the proposed launch date? I'm very keen to get my hands on this thing and to show my church what it can do for them.

Thanks for being such an inspiration. You guys do some great work.

I have to admit that the journaling while reading, sharing to a group of people, and access via a mobile device all sound pretty cool.

I'm not completely sure about accessing others' notes on this, but I guess I have to see it in action. I can see benefits and drawbacks to that. I guess if we can block certain people's comments from what we see, it may be useful. I am more concerned about teaching/comments that are just wrong and want to filter that out of the "noise".

Looking forward to the release, or even being able to try it.

Victor,

Great thoughts on the Google Gears...outside of some licensing issues, we just need to think through what data needed to be offline since there is and will be TONS of data.

We are planning on having several translations...it just takes time to work out agreements with the publishers. We have a few that have already committed, but I won't announce them until we have all of details resolved. For the test, it is simply public domain (old) translations like KJV.

Looking forward to this. Maybe if you haven't already thought about it, it would be cool if you could make it available offline, using something like Google Gears.

Also what Bible translation is being used?
