Who do YOU recommend?
We’ve put together a list of several blogs and websites that we are linking to from Swerve. We know we are missing some great blogs and sites out there.
We’d like to hear who you would recommend that we add to the list and why. Just post a comment below with your suggestions…you can also challenge any suggestions or existing sites/blogs on the list.

Would love to put my own hat in the ring, Bobby. Hope y’all are doing well… party on Wayne!
I’ve been lurking at churchmedia.net for a couple of years. They have what I think is one of the best message boards out there when it comes to discussion about church technology/multimedia.
I’ll throw my own hat in the ring as well, even though I’m in more of a niche area (church website development), but I’m sure some may be interested.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a post entitled “20 Christian Blogs You Should Be Reading”. Feel free to use it. Here’s a link:
20 Christian Blogs You Should Be Reading
Hey Bobby!
Check out Strategy Central at http://markhowell.typepad.com/. Great content!
By the way, thanks for the link. I’m getting lots of clicks from it.
Love keeping up with you guys via the blog. I always check out Scott Hodge’s latest posts from The Orchard Community in Aurora,IL. His site is http://www.scotthodge.org
I’d like to see something ‘Iowa’ represented. So I’ll throw in my own too.
http://churchfuse.net
I nominate Tim Stevens (www.leadingsmart.com) and Mark Waltz (www.becausepeoplematter.com) from Granger Community Church. Both of them are men I respect and have insightful things to say (which tends to be a nice combination).
I like Real Live Preacher (http://www.reallivepreacher.com/). Good writing, and a different viewpoint. Check out the “Real Live Preacher Dramatized Versions” for an alternate rendition of some bible stories. (http://www.reallivepreacher.com/rlpdv).
Thanks everyone…this is great…keep ‘em coming.
Eric…you are still one of my most favorite people in the world to hang out with. (even though I haven’t seen you in a couple of years)
Brad…your clicks will likely go down when we add all of these sites :)
well gotta jump in with my own (fairly new)
larryboatright.blogspot.com
I do love Mark Batterson’s Evotional (already on the list) as well as Kem Myer, who also works at Granger.
http://kemmeyer.typepad.com/
sethgodin.com
Two that I would recommend are:
The blog from St. Paul’s Collegiate Church. They are were I heard about your blog. I love reading theirs and it sounds like they are doing some very cool things in New England. They also quote you a lot, lol.
A very cool site dedicated to helping churches and ministries with technology. They seem to focus mostly on web stuff but also video and other tech.
Anyway, that’s my $0.02
For efficiency and life-hacks, I highly recommend Merlin Mann’s 43 Folders
http://www.43Folders.com.
For the study of lasting impact, I recommend The Long Tail
http://LongTail.com
I vote for Brad Wright’s blog (http://www.brewright.blogspot.com). He is a Christian sociologist and professor who has just gotten into the blogosphere. He is contributing some very good and unique stuff. His series on Christians and divorce was outstanding.
Also, Scot McNight… http://www.jesuscreed.org
Great stuff!
(And thanks to whoever nominated our site…)
Gary Lamb - http://www.garylamb.org
Scott Hodge - someone mentioned him - http://www.scotthodge.typepad.com/
I met him at Granger - Great Guy
Speaking of Granger - Tim Stevens - has great leadership stuff - http://www.leadingsmart.com/
Then there’s me :-)

My favorite: internetmonk.com
I would like to recommend that you add jasonboucher.com and confessionsofapastorswife.com to your list of survival blogs. Pastor Jason and his wife Lori are inspiring and challenging people to Christ like growth through their blogs.
Peace and blessings I pray in Jesus’ Mighty name:
Donna Davidson
You can check mine out and judge for yourself. I am a new church planter who has been blogging for about a month. I am just sharing what I am learning throughout the whole process. As well as showing examples of great insights from the blogs you have already listed in application in a new church launch. It promises to be very educational.

I started a spiritual blog a month ago which has been pretty fun. I’m talking about living a Christian life in an authentic and relevant way — truly connected to God in all things. Kind of like what you’re doing. :)

OK….I have reviewed all of the suggestions and modified our links to reflect many of the suggestions.
Thank you much…please continue to make suggestions.
Saw someone from Iowa and just had to represent another part of the Midwest (SD). Hopefully worship leaders can get something out of my blog. Boy…aren’t we all just shameless? :-) Blogs are a fantastic way to encourage, challenge and build up, though, aren’t they?
You’ve got a lot of good ones. You wouldn’t be complete without Tony Morgan,

and I’ve already blogged about you.
Bobby,
You would be well served to link to Tom Planck. Tom is the pastor of Journey Church in Cincinnati, Oh. At just over a year old, the church has grown from a core of 40 to a church of 400.
Journey is currently listed on Tony Morgan’s blog’s: “Cool Church Radar”
Tom is a consistent blogger, an incredible visionary, and a top notch leader. Not to mention he has already linked to the Swerve blog a couple of times.
check him out at http://www.tomplanck.com
I would recommend our blog: http://www.lifepointblog.tv It is about our journey in planting a multi-site church in South Florida as well as starting a church planting network; New Plant Network.
It is designed to be a resource to anyone planting a church.
I am partial to http://www.nakedpastor.com (The author, David, only bares his soul, don’t worry.) He does cartoons that rock.
Also, for a daily does of bad ideas (not the authors…others), I enjoy http://crummychurchsigns.blogspot.com/
[...] I’ve been hearing a lot about the cool things the LifeChurch.tv people are up to, and one of them is launching a new blog called swerve. They recently asked people to comment on their blog and submit links to blogs they like to read (or their own blogs), so I figured I’d throw my hat into the fray. Thanks guys for adding me to your blogroll! [...]
This is actually Ryan’s wife inviting you to check out Ryan’s blog (he’ll be so glad I put this on there :0)It is a good example of how a LifeGroup can use a blog…

I would recommend adding Cynthia Ware, http://thedigitalsanctuary.textdriven.com
She has a great blog and I value her input on all things church related, technology related and otherwise.
Bobby,
I think you’ve got Multi-Site Church Revolution twice, once with The & once without but it’s definitely the same link.
And Jim Walton (Church Tech Matters) thanks for the recommendation.
cynthia…thanks for the heads-up it has been changed and I have added your blog as well. We really like those guys at the multi-site church rev..that is why they were there twice :)

It’s great to have you guys in the blogging community. There’s a lot of good blogs out there. Here’s a few that I subscribe to that didn’t get mentioned:
Ken Wilson - NewSpring
Anthony Coppedge - Church Tech
Church Marketing Sucks
Fast Company
Seth Godin - Marketing
And for what it’s worth, here’s mine… http://www.biggiefries.com
My bad. I just re-read the list and saw Seth Godin and CMS on there.
Check out http://www.curtharlow.com. Curt’s got some good stuff to say, plus he has the funniest video in the world — 10 Worship Taboos.
Wow, this is the Mother Lode of the websites you should be reading. Thanks for publicly collecting this list so we can all benefit.
If you are still looking for candidates, take a look at my blog: http://testifytotruth.com
The Leadership Blog -leadershipblog.blogspot.com
Hey Bobby,
My new blog is up at Hydrate.TV. I am still such a techy-loser because I don’t get half this stuff, but it should get better over the next little while. Not sure if you are still looking to add blogs and websites (genesischurch.tv) but I thought I would put it out there. I will be blogging about the personal side of being a pastor and leadership.
Thanks,
Brian Hunter

Hey, Bobby! Great to meet you the other day and work with you for a couple of hours. It’s really a pleasure and honor to be able to work with your staff as the need arises. If you want more links, I’d love to have mine up there (PrintsCharmingPhotography.com), but then it may not be the kind of link you’re looking for.
Take care! Should have a cd of pictures for you today or tomorrow. It’s ready, but I need to work out a time to swing by with it.
God bless!
